  • Welcome to Congregation Or Chadash, a multi-generational, highly participatory, family-friendly congregation affiliated with
the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism.

CONGREGATION OR CHADASH was founded in May of 2002 by a steering committee of 19 hard-working volunteers dedicated to bringing a Conservative Jewish presence to the Northeast Valley. In October of 2004, we opened the doors at our new location at 16447 N. 91st Street, Suite 102, just east of the Loop 101 and south of Bell Road in Scottsdale, Arizona at the foot of the beautiful McDowell Mountain Range. Today, we are over 100 families strong and still growing.

Whether you are looking for a Conservative Synagogue to join or just want to learn about us, we are glad you came to visit and we hope to meet you in person. If you have questions regarding membership, education, upcoming events or would like to print a copy of our latest newsletter, just click on one of the links at the bottom of the page.

We have services for all ages: Our Friday night Shabbat Service is a musical, spiritually uplifting service led by Cantor Ruth. Saturday morning services are traditional and led by Rabbi Robin. Friday night Young Family Services are led by Rabbi Robin with Doug and Rachel Passon leading ruach-filled song and dance for kids of all ages. Share Shabbat services and a potluck dinner, either here or at a congregant’s home. And new for the coming year: Junior Congregation and a Learner’s Minyan. Truly something for everyone.

Congregation Or Chadash is blessed with clergy who are warm, compassionate, dedicated, and spiritually uplifting. Shabbat at Congregation Or Chadash is joyous! Our Tefillot are accessible, and filled with music and singing. The feeling we share is summed up in a reading from our Siddur:

May the door to this synagogue be wide enough to receive all who hunger for love, all who are lonely for fellowship. May it welcome all who have cares to unburden, thanks to express, hopes to nurture. May the door of this synagogue be narrow enough to shut out pettiness and pride, envy and enmity. May its threshold be no stumbling block to young or straying feet. May it be too high to admit complacency, selfishness and harshness. May this synagogue be, for all who enter, the doorway to a richer and more meaningful life.
