“Talmud Torah K’Neged Kulam- The study of Torah is the most basic and important of all the Mitzvot.” -Talmud, Tractate Shabbat 127a.
Congregation Or Chadash prides itself on being a community of learners. We have so many opportunities for members of both our congregation and within the community to enjoy the wealth of Jewish learning that our tradition leaves for us to enjoy! Whether it is through young family programs or adult education, religious school or family holiday programs, scholar in residence weekends or weekly text study classes, lunch and learn opportunities throughout the community at local restaurants or informal learning in the synagogue on holidays and Shabbat, there is something for everyone.
We, at Congregation Or Chadash take our Jewish learning and transform it into Jewish living. Our education for all ages at Congregation Or Chadash gives us the gift of studying, teaching one another, and learning from each other as we ask questions, search for answers and enable our “bank” of Jewish knowledge to be at the core of who we are as Jews. “Investing” the time and learning about who we are as Jews and how we make sense of the world emphasizes the Talmud’s teaching, ensuring that the study of Torah is important for us today and for many years to come!
We invite you to join us. Be a part of our life long learning here at Congregation Or Chadash!
